Day 1
Departing from Val d'Isère or Tignes, after an off-piste descent, we put on our skins to reach a pass that will allow us to switch to the descent into the Rocheure valley and reach the Femma refuge (2352m), where we will spend the night (half-board at the refuge).
- Difference in altitude : 400 to 600m D+ and 500 to 700m D- depending on the route
- Distance : 7 to 10 km depending on route
Day 2
This is a transitional stage that takes us into the heart of the Vanoise massif. This day is not to be taken as a classic day of ski touring, as we will only be descending on short sections. It should be seen as a day's hiking, allowing us to move from one valley to another while admiring the surrounding mountains! Night and meal at the Col de la Vanoise refuge (2517m)
- Difference in altitude : 500m D+ and 300m D-, on false flats
Day 3
From the refuge, we head for the Col de la Grande Casse (3095m). We then descend the Rosolin and Epena glaciers, crossing at the foot of the mythical north face of Grande Casse to land at the bottom of the Champagny valley (2040m).
We then climb back up to the Col du Palet to return to Tignes and civilisation!
It's the most emotionally-charged day of the year, with plenty to see and plenty to do!
- Difference in altitude : 1200m D+ and 1600m D-
- Distance : 11km
